In celebration of the Joker’s 75th birthday, Suicide Squad director David Ayer revealed the first look at Jared Leto as the Joker, and the Internet is abuzz with mixed reactions.
Finally, after an excruciating wait for avid fans of the DC universe, we have a full look at Leto’s Joker, and it’s not what many fans were expecting, based on some rather hilarious photo reactions which surfaced on Imgur.

It seems that Ayer wanted to diverge from the classic Joker, placing Leto in a startling getup which showcases some very pale yet heavily tattooed skin, along with a green mane and dyed (dirty?) teeth.
Many think the tattoos are purely promotional and he won’t have them in the film.
However, the character has had tattoos before, one such instance being Frank Miller’s All Star Batman and Robin: The Boy Wonder.
This gritty Joker is quite the contrast from the fan-favorite rendition as portrayed by Heath Ledger. Regardless, it is indisputable that Leto’s Joker will go down in the books as being one of the more unique depictions of the Clown Prince of Crime.
Suicide Squad centers on a group of imprisoned villains played by the likes of Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood and Common. It’s set to come out on August 5, 2016.
