Website Staff

Angie Barry | Staff Writer

Angie Barry has watched far too many zombie films, can quote entire seasons of British television from memory, and is pretty sure she’s a long-lost member of the Addams Family. A Ravenclaw and budding cryptozoologist, she has a deep and abiding love for Oscar Isaac’s curls, Lucy Liu’s freckles, Chris Evans’ eyelashes, and Idris Elba’s everything. You can usually find her screaming about fandom on Tumblr – when she’s not writing about things that bump in the night.

David Clark | Staff Writer

Dave watches too much television and way too many movies. He grew up ingesting copious amounts of Batman: The Animated Series and the X-Men Animated Series. This healthy diet of entertainment led him to be a super geek, with a love for all things comics and science fiction. He’s watched Buffy, Alias, Supernatural, and Doctor Who more times than he can remember. His fictional heroes include Xander Harris, Dean Winchester, and Batman. He hosts a podcast at AtomicGeekdom.com and loves talking about anything within the Geek Culture world. Rant and rave along with him on Twitter @djclark21.

Jeffry W. Johnston | Staff Writer

Jeffry W. Johnston is a professional writer who’s written on subjects as varied as film, theatre, health, and education. He grew up reading both DC and Marvel comics, but Batman was his favorite (and still is). He loves movies and considers being able to binge entire TV series as one of humankind’s greatest achievements. Jeffry is the author of the teen novels FRAGMENTS and THE TRUTH. Connect with him via Twitter @jeffrywjohnston and on his website at jeffrywjohnston.com.

Lauren Scheier | Staff Writer

Lauren Scheier graduated with a degree in Film from California State University Monterey Bay and is an avid cinephile. She’s a lifelong geek and is extremely fond of all things horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. One of her favorite hobbies includes volunteering as a historical reenactor at her local Renaissance Faire. She has a penchant for loving movie creatures that would most likely claw her face off (Xenomorphs, Jurassic Park Velociraptors, and Bruce from Jaws). She’s a proud Hufflepuff and her perfect lazy day would consist of watching reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on an infinite loop.

Michael Poteet | Staff Writer

Mike is a professional writer who’s been a sucker for sci-fi since age 5, when his parents took him to see Star Wars. These days his fandom includes Doctor Who, DC superheroes (Superman’s his favorite), and especially Star Trek. His sale of a short story to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds II was his Trekkie dream come true. Follow Mike at @WriterMPoteet.

Sol Smith | Staff Writer

Sol Smith is a writer who has worn many hats in his life. He has worked on movie sets, been the Arts and Entertainment editor of a weekly newspaper, been the bodyguard of a corporate clown-mascot, and published seven novels. Now, as Chair of Liberal Arts at Laguna College of Art and Design, he has gained a new appreciation and fascination for collecting by working with comic book, video game, and animation students who study popular culture from an artistic and academic point of view. Currently, he spends his free time either at Disneyland or playing Mario Kart 8 against his wife, who is slightly better than he is, which means that he is always hoping for those last-second blue shells. He barely maintains his blog about popular culture and life at SolSmith.net.

Londyn Jackson | Guest Writer

Londyn Jackson is an art historian and the creator of “History of the Batman,” which relives the defining moments of one of the most iconic figures in comic book art and literature, the Batman, through a fun and educational look at the DC Comics’ character over the last 77 years and spanning over all visual media. Over the last three years, Londyn’s “History of the Batman” has over 275,000 “Gothamites” on Instagram, hosts the number one podcast and now YouTube vlog on the famous Meltdown Comics and Collectibles Podcast Network History of the Batman with Londyn! and curates gallery art shows that celebrate the creative evolution of this dynamic character. A teacher and social media guru for organizations by day, Londyn is a native to Los Angeles, California and lives with her Trekkie husband Adam, their gusher loving dog Gohan all in a house filled with and built on comic book and nerd culture.
