Mockingbird and Agents of SHIELD fans rejoice!
Adrianne Palicki is joining the cast of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD as the fierce Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird. Will Mockingbird enter the fray as a trained SHIELD field agent, a PhD grad, or something else entirely? Only time will tell.
Palicki’s Morse is set to appear in the fifth episode of the upcoming season with the potential to return. Whether she helps or hinders Agent Coulson and SHIELD is yet to be determined but fans anticipate a fiesty addition to the team. Fans can also look forward to watching Morse tackle the SHIELD corruption revealed with the Hydra twist.
Mockingbird is the not the first superhero role tackled by Adrianne Palicki. The Friday Night Lights star was cast as Wonder Woman in the failed 2011 series by David E. Kelley. She also starred in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and an episode of The CW’s Smallville.
Created by Gerry Conway and Barry Smith and introduced in “Astonishing Tales’ #6 in 1971, Mockingbird doesn’t originally have super powers but is injected with an experimental serum. In the comics, she also becomes romantically involved with Hawkeye.
Joining Adrianne Palicki as new faces for the show are Kyle MacLachlan as Skye’s father and Lucy Lawless as SHIELD agent Isabelle Hartley.
Agents of SHIELD returns with its second season on September 23, 2014. The cast includes Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Castecker as Leo Fitz, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, and Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May. Jeffrey Bell, Jeph Leob, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jed Whedon, and Joss Whedon executive produce the popular series.
