Are you ready to delve into the world of Attack on Titan?
We previously reported that a live action version of Shingeki no Kyojin was in the works, but now the first footage from the film surfaced. Trust me, if you love the anime, you’re going to love the live-action.
The footage was featured on a television broadcast, which you can watch below. The broadcast juxtaposes scenes from the original animation with the live-action footage and special effects. And they’re doing a phenomenal job.
The film looks dark, forlorn, and truly menacing. The Titans are absolutely terrifying. While I thought the massive muscled hulks were somewhat laughable in animation, they are utterly frightening in this footage. Having teenage soldiers burden the fate of humanity becomes just that much more real when you can see a person reenacting the same moments that an animated character did.
If this film is as dramatic as the anime, fans are going to be thrilled. The film is set to open in August 2015.
