The earlier trailer gave us a brief look but the extended clip allows a much more substantial reading into the characters. In this scene, the Avengers team is relaxing over take-out and a fwe drinks.
It opens with Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye trying to lift Thor’s hammer to the amusement of the rest of the team. He motions for Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man to try, which results in a hilarious montage showcasing Robert Downey Jr.’s iconic sass. Stark uses his Iron Man hand and even gets help from Rhodey (and the Iron Patriot hand) but to no avail.
After the Iron attempt, Bruce Banner a.k.a. the Hulk takes a shot. He seems a bit frustrated so he backs off.
Last, but certainly not least, is Steve Rogers, our resident Captain America. As the hammer starts to budge slightly, Thor looks worried. Of course, Rogers decides fairly quickly that he can’t pick it up.
Unlike the earlier clip, we don’t see Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow refuse to lift it. Presumably she still doesn’t need to know if she is or isn’t worthy (despite the comic lore where she does, in fact, pick up Mjolnir.)
Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and James Spader, and hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
