Production for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad is well under way and in the past couple days, videos and pictures have been posted online revealing an exciting character on set.
Warning: there will be spoilers in this article.
First, let’s set up the scene. It’s night and the Joker is driving wildly through the city streets in a red sports car (probably stolen, with Harley Quinn in the passenger seat). However, someone is close on his tail:
That is most definitely the Batmobile. This is the first official confirmation of the long-standing rumor that Batman will be in Suicide Squad. In all likelihood, it’s Ben Affleck’s Batman.
It’s unlikely that the Caped Crusader will be a big character in the film but even just some scenes are exciting, especially when it involves an epic car chase.
However, another video reveals that Batman abandons the Batmobile all together to go after the Joker himself:
How awesome is that? We’re excited to see how everything goes down!
The film is about a group of supervillains tasked with executing dangerous missions, led by secret government agent Amanda Waller.
Suicide Squad is set to come out on August 5, 2016. It will be directed by David Ayer and star Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Scott Eastwood, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Jim Parrack and Adam Beach.
