Every Millennial’s Heart Just Broke as Bette Midler Confirms No Hocus Pocus Sequel

Disney’s 1993 Halloween film Hocus Pocus didn’t perform well upon initial release but it has since become a cult classic.

It’s played numerous times every October now, to the thunderous applause of Millennials (myself included).

We’ve all been clamoring for a sequel, and the three witchy sisters, Winifred (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy), and Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), have supported the idea over the years.

However, it seems that dream has come to an end. In a Facebook Q&A on Tuesday, Bette Midler replied to a fan’s query about a sequel: “After all these years and all the fan demand, I do believe I can stand and firmly say an unequivocal no.”

Oof. That’s not a “probably not” or a “not at this time,” that’s a big, fat, hard no.

We were counting on you, Disney!

To feel better, watch this compilation of hilarious scenes and tell us why you love Hocus Pocus so much!
