You might have heard of some little shows called Arrow and The Flash. Well, they’re about to be joined by another superhero on The CW’s parent channel, CBS. That’s right, our first look at the upcoming CBS show, Supergirl, has officially arrived and it’s six and a half glorious minutes of bright, superhero fun!
You read that right: six and a half minutes. Watch the trailer below!
The trailer covers Kara Zor-El a.k.a. Supergirl’s origin, starting with her being jettisoned from Krypton to Earth, like a particular cousin of hers, Superman.
On Earth, she works for Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) with her friend Winslow Schott who goes on to become the villain Toyman (Jeremy Jordan), and meets the famous James “Jimmy” Olsen (Mehcad Brooks).
However, Kara feels like she’s not living up to her potential, as she explains to her sister, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), the only person who seems to know the truth about her. That is, until she saves a plane from crashing.
With a rush of exhilaration, she decides to become Supergirl. The rest of the trailer is jam-packed fun, including a cute costume montage with Winslow and discovering she’s bullet-proof.
It has a vibe similar to The Flash which we could not be more excited about. The trailer references Superman many times, including Jimmy delivering a gift to Kara from her cousin at the end, but it’s all mostly generic. The main focus is Supergirl, and rightfully so.
We think the show looks like a whole lot of fun and we’re excited to check it out!
Supergirl premieres on CBS in November on Mondays at 8 PM.
