Disney Has No Bothers with Yet Another Live-Action Film

It looks like Disney can’t be stopped. After revealing that their animated film Mulan would become a live-action film, yet another has joined the ranks.

Deadline reports that the beloved store of Winnie the Pooh is also set to become a live-action film. It joins the likes of Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and Dumbo.

Writer-Director Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip) has been hired to take on the project. Based on the stories of A.A. Milne, this movie is said to focus on an adult Christopher Robin who finds himself back in the Hundred Acre Woods. Are we meant to assume then that Pooh and all his friends are actually real? It’ll be curious to see what they come up with.

This is not the first time Disney has hired an up and coming indie director. Director David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints) is currently taking on a remake of Pete’s Dragon with the likes of Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, and Karl Urban in the cast.

The last time we saw Winnie the Pooh in theaters was 2011 with the animated feature covering three stories found in Milne’s books.

Do you think Disney is overdoing it? Who would you want to see play an adult Christopher Robin or Pooh and friends? Let us know in the comments!
