We’ve Got a Dream That We’ll See More Tangled in the Future

Tangled Series

Is Rapunzel your favorite Disney princess? Do you love the scoundrel Eugene a.k.a. Flynn Rider with his heart of gold? Then you’ll love this news!

Disney has ordered an animated television series based on the 2010 film, Tangled.

The series will be set between the feature film and the short, Tangled Ever After, which aired in 2012 before the 3-D re-release of Beauty and the Beast.

Following Rapunzel exploring her kingdom of Corona, the official press release describes what the series will cover:

“Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world drives her to the realization that there is so much more she needs to learn before she can truly accept her royal destiny. She boldly puts her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out epic adventures, much to the dismay of the King who, after missing out on Rapunzel’s youth, must accept that his daughter is now an independent young woman.”

The show will follow Rapunzel, Flynn, her chameleon friend Pascal, the stubborn horse Maximus, the Snuggly Duckling pub thugs, and a new character: Cassandra, a strong-willed handmaiden who also serves as Rapunzel’s confidant.

That’s not all the exciting news!

Original voice actors Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will be reprising their roles of Rapunzel and Flynn, respectively. Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater will also return for the series.

The unnamed TV show is set to premiere in 2017.
