Whew! Have you guys survived most of the first day of San Diego Comic-Con 2015? That’s what I thought.
There have already been some big goings on — Bill Murray’s first Comic-Con! The last Hunger Games Comic-Con panel! — but one of the biggest events just concluded and there’s a trailer.
Doctor Who convened in Hall H as fans cheered and applauded for Peter Capaldi (the Doctor), Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald), Michelle Gomez (Missy, the Master), and current showrunner, Steven Moffat.
First things first: the ninth season will debut on September 19th and there’s a new trailer, which you can watch below!
On his first SDCC, Capaldi said: “It’s cosmic, I’ve never been in front of 7,000 people before in my life.”

The panelists discussed the possibility of a female doctor, with Moffat explaining that while “there’s no vacancy,” having a female Master reveals the fact that there can be a female Doctor. “Maybe I should do an episode in drag,” Capaldi joked to huge laughs.
As for the trailer we have two words: Maisie Williams. That’s right, we have our first look at Williams (Arya in Game of Thrones) on the show! Also the 12th Doctor as a rockstar? Intrigued barely begins to cover it!
It’s the best this show has ever looked re: production design and I’m sure the fans in attendance were brimming with excitement.
Doctor Who Season 9 premieres on September 19th.
