Watch The Star Wars VII Trailer Perfectly Recreated in Lego

One Star Wars fanatic spent over 12 hours remaking the 88-second clip frame-for-frame – and it’s pretty spectacular. YouTuber Snooperking, who shared his version of the trailer with the web today, admitted it “took forever” to make it. Recreating all of the special effects seen in the sci-fi trailer proved particularly difficult as he dedicated over 12 hours to the project.

“I tried stop motion in front of the green screen and that was hard and by this time it was 3am so like more than 12 hours and then finally gave up and used sewing string for the X-Wing and just kind of moved my camera around the Falcon,” he wrote in the video’s description.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Gwendoline Christie, is set to come out on December 18, 2015.
