Female Villain Confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

As Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues to film, new information about the Marvel movie has hit the internet.

According to a report by Joblo, the villain of the film will be Ayesha aka Her/Kismet.

In the comics, Ayesha was the second test by the Enclave to create a perfect human being (after Him aka Adam Warlock). She is extremely powerful, given her superhuman abilities and unique physiology.

There is no confirmation about who’s playing her, but actress Elizabeth Debicki is confirmed for the film and without a role, so it could very well be her. It’s also unclear how much of her admittedly complicated origin story will be adapted for the film.

Ayesha will be the second major female villain in a Marvel film, along with Cate Blanchett’s Hela in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit theaters on May 5, 2017. It’s directed once more by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Glenn Close, Kurt Russell, Nathan Fillion, Karen Gillan, and Elizabeth Debicki.
