With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice exactly one year away, it’s high time we got our first look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Entertainment Weekly shared the photo today, getting fans everywhere slightly more titillated for the film yet to come.
Director Zack Snyder has kept information around the superhero film very scarce, but he did share his thoughts on this personification of the supervillain:
“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.
“Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
The image showcases Jesse Eisenberg’s freshly shaved head in black and white. Lex Luthor is most recognizable without hair, so it’s only natural that Eisenberg loses his locks to embody the antagonist.
Let’s cross our fingers that the next piece Snyder releases is a trailer!
Directed by Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice introduces Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, while bringing back Man of Steel’s Superman (Henry Cavill) and Lois Lane (Amy Adams). The film is set for release on March 25, 2016.
