Since 1974, Playmobil’s cute plastic people have been a staple in toyboxes around the world. With their signature simple faces and rounded shapes, Playmobil figures have portrayed doctors, cowboys, clowns, ninjas, robots, and more at playtime for over 40 years.
Now, in a historic team-up, Playmobil and Funko are collaborating on a new line of action figures that will combine the distinctive style of Playmobil with the pop culture world of Funko.
Two of the first figures up are the infamous candymaker Willy Wonka from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and one of his trusty Oompa-Loompa workers.
The Willy Wonka figure comes with his cane/walking stick as a unique accessory. Playmobil’s attention to detail has been replicated here with such features as the bowtie, the flowered shirt, and the distinctive, unmistakable design that is the Oompa-Loompa.
