Hideo Kojima’s highly acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series had its ninth installment last year, and unsurprisingly it was a resounding hit. Gecco have now announced this incredible addition to their Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain line of collectibles: the Venom Snake 1:6 Scale Statue. Big Boss’s Phantom has been rendered in incredible detail, making this a deluxe addition to anyone’s collection.
Venom Snake stands at an impressive 12 ½ inches, and such a scale means that he has been sculpted with a high degree of fidelity. His bionic arm is intact down to the details on the individual knuckles. A plethora of accessories are included in his costume, with various pouches, belts, water bottles, and guns individually recognisable.
Perhaps most impressive, however, is the detail on Venom Snake’s face. Weathered, scarred, and hardened, each scar and crease has been captured to preserve the personality of the combat medic. The slightly gruesome shrapnel “horn” protruding from his right temple, hinting at his demonic streak in the game’s karma system, is given as much detail as the hard leather eye patch it sits above.
