We all might still re-watching and talking about that Avengers: Infinity War trailer but that doesn’t stop the latest entertainment and collectibles news from happening. So the time has come to look at the this week’s geek headlines including a check in on box office numbers to see what movie is at number one and what films are coming out this weekend!
Black Panther Dominating Box Office Numbers
It comes as no surprise that Black Panther is still number one at the box office, currently with a total of $612 million domestic and over $1 billion worldwide. Its destroying records along the way with very little signs of slowing down. At number two this week was I Can Only Imagine, with over a total $22 million domestic. Tomb Raider comes in third in its debut weekend with almost $30 million domestic and a worldwide total of over $135 million. The Alicia Vikander led film reboot of the video game found success with audiences around the world since hitting theaters last Thursday.
This week a blockbuster sequel is set to hit theaters in Pacific Rim: Uprising introducing John Boyega and Scott Eastwood to the franchise and returning Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, and Burn Gorman. Guillermo del Toro is back only as a producer with Steven S. DeKnight directing the sequel set ten years after the previous film’s events.
Deadpool vs. Cable
Looking to keep momentum with the buzz created by the Avengers: Infinity War trailer released last week, 20th Century Fox dropped a new Deadpool 2 trailer. The trailer itself was full of the R-rated fun we would expect through the language and violence depicted but also displayed the comedy we know and love from the Merc with a Mouth. The trailer also gave us a better glimpse at what the storyline is as Deadpool tries to protect a young mutant from the time-traveling assassin Cable. We also get an X-Force name drop from Deadpool in this trailer.
Care Bear Stare at Some Free Funko Pop!s
