Geek Headlines: Fallen Kingdom Trailer, Batmobile Review, and More

After a long week, we’re all thankful it’s Friday and the weekend is just around the corner. That being said, let’s look back at this week’s pop culture news and headlines!

A Jurassic-Sized Trailer

No sense in burying the lead. The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer dropped Thursday night and it was everything a Jurassic fan wanted it to be. Full of dino fun and all the running you’d expect from an island full of creatures ready to devour you. Oh and a volcano. It’s gonna be a goofy, fun ride and we’re all here for it.

In other news, Quentin Tarantino is set to take a stab at directing a Star Trek film. J.J. Abrams gathered a group of writers to start planning the next installment in the Trek franchise and in that room, Tarantino apparently wow’ed the studio with his idea for an R-rated version of a Trek film. It remains to be seen if this story involves the new cast and the new timeline set forth by Abrams in the first film.

We’re one week away from the latest film in a galaxy far, far away, when Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters. No news here…it’s just too exciting to not bring up at this point.

Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?

Toyark gave us an exclusive look at the 1:10 scale RC Justice League Batmobile. It’s incredibly detailed and hits a top speed of 5.5 MPH. Sound effects, missiles, guns, rockets, lights, and a cockpit camera all controlled by an app on your phone. Combine it with a Batman figure and you’re pretty much recreating a scene from your favorite comic book or film, with the Dark Knight roaming the streets of Gotham.
