Ghostbusters 3 is a reality! A female-driven reality! More exclamation points!
First, Bill Murray declared his support of a female-driven Ghostbusters team. Now we’re getting the official statement that Bridesmaids director Paul Feig will be penning the script of the next Ghostbusters flick with author of The Heat, Katie Dippold. Be still, my beating heart!
With writers hired, Ghostbusters 3 is definitely moving forward and I’m on the edge of my seat with anticipation. Will the GB3 team include the fantastic actors recommended by Bill Murray? Will we find undiscovered talents for the film? And, most importantly, will they be afraid of those ghosts?
Without the original team to meet up for another round, a female-led team is the perfect paradigm shift to expand the Ghostbusters universe. With a stellar comedy team writing this script, audiences will be in for the big laughs. After all, Dippold recently finished a sequel for buddy cop comedy The Heat and previously wrote for Parks and Recreation and MadTV.
We’ll let you know as soon as we know more. Until then, share your innermost thoughts and desires for Ghostbusters 3 in the comments!
It’s official. I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.
