The day has finally arrived, fellow Harry Potter fans. And it’s totally understandable if you won’t be able to compose yourself after reading this news.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the sequel play premiering in London this June, is turning into a book! Well, a book of the script, that is.

And it’s arriving on Harry’s birthday!
While it may not be exactly the same as a new novel, or seeing the play in person, it’s certainly something great for fans who aren’t able to get to London to see the play.
Plus, the end of July isn’t that far away.
An important note is that this book will be a “Special Rehearsal Edition” of the script, with a second, “definitive” version coming out later. Which basically means there will be two versions of this book and whether or not you get both, or one, depends on your level of fandom.
Here’s a refresher of the plot:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
From the new global wizarding schools revealed on Pottermore, to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premiering this November, and now to this new book, the Harry Potter universe certainly is alive and well.
The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book script will arrive in print and eBook on July 31, 2016.
