The Hashira are the most powerful and skilled Demon Slayers in the entire Demon Slayer Corps, and each of these slayers has mastered a different breathing technique and element. They are responsible for leading the entire Demon Slayer Corps, and each is the epitome of strength, determination, and agility. Below, we’ve ranked the Hashira from least favorite to most loved! If you’re looking for these awesome characters to add to your collection, look no further than the Entertainment Earth Demon Slayer selection, and if you’re also wondering where we placed the Twelve Kizuki, check out that ranking as well! Now onto the Hashira…
#9 Gyomei Himejima – Stone Hashira
Gyomei is incredibly strong and stoic, and his ability to manipulate the ground around him allows him to create powerful defensive and offensive attacks. He can also use his sense of touch to locate demons and predict their movements. Himejima is definitely the silent but deadly type. Although his fighting style is strong, this archetype is something we have seen before, and in overall lovability, we just had to put this big rock last.
#8 Shinobu Kocho – Insect Hashira
Shinobu uses her knowledge of poisons and her Insect Breathing technique to battle demons. Often becoming as graceful as a butterfly, or enhancing her attacks with poison, her insect knowledge is quite useful. Overall, having insect powers is cooler than we initially gave her credit for, but it still ranks low when compared to the rest of the Hashira’s abilities.
#7 Obanai Iguro – Serpent Hashira
Obanai is a skilled swordsman who uses the Serpent Breathing technique, which allows him to summon snake-like abilities and movements to enhance his attacks. He also has the ability to summon a giant snake made of his own blood. Iguro is one of the most intimidating of the Hashira, often seen with a serious expression, void of emotion. But don’t mistake him as apathetic – Iguro is still extremely loyal to the Hashira and their cause.
#6 Tengen Uzui – Sound Hashira
Tengen is known for his keen sense of hearing, which he uses to locate and track demons. He also uses a unique style of swordsmanship that involves using his hair to control his blades. His flamboyant personality just adds to Hashira’s uniqueness, as the character is often seen participating in aesthetically pleasing hobbies like designing clothing and collecting art.
#5 Muichiro Tokito – Mist Hashira
Muichiro uses the Mist Breathing technique and is known for his speed and agility. He also has the ability to sense the presence of demons and locate them even in total darkness. Tokito is the youngest Hashira in the history of the Corps, and he is known for his unique Demon Slayer Mark. His assistance with taking down Kokushibo proves that his power is incredibly strong, so he earned his 5th place title.
#4 Mitsuri Kanroji – Love Hashira
Mitsuri uses the Love Breathing technique, which allows her to sense the emotions and intentions of those around her. This ability makes Mitsuri incredibly empathetic, and she often takes the role of the big sister or motherly figure for those around her. Mitsuri’s love and compassion adds a lot of heart to the Demon Slayer team.
Top 3 Demon Slayer Hashira
#3 Sanemi Shinazugawa – Wind Hashira
Sanemi uses the Wind Breathing technique and is known for his incredible speed and agility. But things aren’t sunshine and rainbows with Shinazugawa. He is incredibly abrasive, with a gruff exterior, and he isn’t against speaking his mind, even if it hurts others. But if you thought Giyu had a tragic backstory, Shinazugawa has an even darker one, filled with much trauma. His back story makes him one of the most sympathetic and relatable characters of the show.
#2 Giyu Tomioka – Water Hashira
Giyu is the Water Hashira, capable of using the Water Breathing technique, which allows him to manipulate water and enhance his attacks. Giyu is often referred to as the most powerful of the Hashira, having mastered the Water Breathing technique beyond the normal level. However, It’s Giyu’s personality that makes him particularly admirable. His stoic and calm demeanor adds to his overall image, while his tragic backstory makes him particularly relatable.
#1 Kyojuro Rengoku – Flame Hashira
Rengoku became our favorite Hashira for obvious reasons, but it’s also true that his Flame abilities are one of the most powerful. This paired with his determination, empathetic and kind attitude, and his overall passionate personality, makes Rengoku #1 on this list. He became an important mentor for our main character Tanjiro and gave him some valuable advice that Tanjiro will take with him throughout the rest of his heroic journey.
