Watch Beauty and the Beast Actors Luke Evans and Hugh Jackman Have a Gaston-Off

Luke Evans and Hugh Jackman may both play Gaston (past and present) in Beauty and the Beast, but in our hearts, they will always be contenders for Prince Charming! After all, with a sing-off like the one you’re about to see, there’s some serious danger of swooning here. Though we admit, Gaston does have his questionable charms… despite the hair on his arms.

One of Disney’s most financially successful films, Beauty and the Beast was the first animated film to ever be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars and has a fantastic Broadway musical adaptation, for which Hugh Jackman played the stage iteration of the misogynistic villain, Gaston.

We reported last year that the animated film is being turned into a live-action production in 2017 with leads Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, and Luke Evans as Gaston.

And… be still, heart! Yesterday Hugh Jackman and Luke Evans took the stage on The Jonathan Ross Show to have what we formally dub a “Gaston-off.”

That’s right – the two beloved actors sing the song “Gaston” on stage together for the first time in a playful competition. What’s more, Taron Edgerton, known for Kingsman (and currently in Eddie the Eagle, alongside Hugh Jackman) introduces the song with the most beautiful voice – wow! We think he should definitely do a musical at some point in his career.

Beauty is found within, but gorgeous voices can be heard in the video below. Check it out!

Beauty and the Beast, directed by Bill Condon, is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2017.

What do you think of this sing-off? Who makes the better Gaston?
