We all remember the tragic death of Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man #121-122. After her deadly meeting with the Green Goblin, Gwen’s fall from the Brooklyn Bridge marked the end of the beloved young scientist. Or so we thought.
Fast forward to 2014, where we meet a mysterious new Spider-Woman from Earth-65. A Spider-Woman that turned out to be none other than Gwen herself. Fans were elated to see her return! Excitement was enough to get the new web-slinger her own comic run, a run that was met with outstanding sales. The first issue of Spider-Gwen debuted in February of 2015, and was the third best-selling comic of the month, selling over 250,000 copies. Spider-Gwen’s first issue sold so well, in fact, that it stayed in 8th place in comic book sales over-all in 2015.
Gwen has continued to sell well despite the struggling comic book market, and continues to win the hearts of fans with each issue. Her popularity also resulted in a few appearances in The Ultimate Spider-Man. Rather robust toy and collectible lines have been a result of that popularity as well, and Kotobukiya has given us a lovely new Spider-Gwen ArtFX+ Statue to add to your collection!
Small but fierce, this 1:10 scale statue stands at about 3 1/3-inches tall and features a Spider-Gwen ready to attack. Based on Sefano Caselli artwork this Earth-65 Gwen Stacy has all the crisp details you would expect from Kotobukiya’s Art-FX+ line, including the delicate arch of her little spider foot!
