Our favorite Agent is back in action!
Marvel released a promo for Season 2 of their mid-season series, Agent Carter. Check it out below!
The second season sees Peggy Carter (played by the always wonderful Hayley Atwell) transferred to the land of glitz, glamour, and movie stars for a new assignment. She’ll also be joined by familiar faces like Jarvis (James D’Arcy) and Sousa (Enver Gjokaj). Based on IMDB, it looks like we’ll be seeing Dominic Cooper’s Howard Stark and Bridget Regan’s Dottie again too. Unfortunately, there’s no sign of Angie (Lyndsy Fonseca), the waitress Peggy befriended in Season 1, which is a shame because she was a real gem.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Marvel’s Agent Carter returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home—and perhaps even a new love—she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
The trailer packs a lot of fun into it. A noir Hollywood take on Agent Carter could end up being a really exciting endeavor, especially with a villain like Madame Masque.
Fingers crossed there will also be some fun portrayals or shout-outs to big names of Classic Hollywood – wouldn’t it be a hoot to see Peggy meeting Katharine Hepburn?
The first season of Agent Carter didn’t always stand out but it was solid and explored interesting characters and mythos of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And if anything else, Haylet Atwell knows how to carry a show and it’ll be a joy to see her again.
Agent Carter Season 2 will premiere on ABC on January 5.
