Marvel was busy this weekend with their press junket for Avengers: Age of Ultron (18 more days!) but they certainly didn’t ignore their other upcoming film. Over the weekend, Marvel released the first full-length trailer for Ant-Man which you can watch below!
The two-minute trailer released at the beginning of the year was just the first look and now we have a full look.
This trailer is jam-packed with action, as Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) explains the powers of the Ant-Man suit in a voiceover atop some really cool shots of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). The CGI looks pretty stunning in the trailer.
Without mentioning Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) by name, the plot of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Lang stealing the Yellowjacket suit is laid out clearly in the trailer. Of course they’ll need to get it before Cross becomes too godlike with it.
There’s also some great natural humor in the trailer – which makes sense if you’re going to cast someone like Rudd. The Thomas the Tank Engine bit at the end definitely had me chuckling.
Ultimately I think this trailer proves that the film is going to be fun and exciting. Lang could become an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and maybe even join the new Avengers team for Infinity War.
