Marvel Announces Avengers Video Game Deal

On Wednesday Marvel teased a big announcement that would come Thursday morning. There were many theories as to what this could even be about considering the tease was so vague. With Marvel covering so many forms of entertainment it could be television, movies, cartoons, video games, and oh yeah… they make comics too. The announcement was a multi-game partnership with video game studio Square Enix called The Avengers Project made by Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics and Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal.

Square Enix is commonly known as the studio that makes the wildly popular Final Fantasy and the Kingdom Hearts games. The teaser trailer shows what looks to be the aftermath of a brutal fight that left the Avengers beaten. A girl’s voice explains that the world will always need heroes over images of Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s glove, and Captain America’s shield.

The trailer’s YouTube description provides a little more information:

The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.

Not the announcement that people expected, but still some fun news for gamers and Marvel fans alike. As a fan of the Final Fantasy games, you can expect detailed and emotional story lines and amazing visuals for these games.
