From August 23-25, D23 Expo will turn the Anaheim Convention Center into a Disney fan’s delight. Ranging from movies, TV shows, and theme parks to Star Wars, Pixar, and everything else that falls under the large Disney umbrella, D23 will be the one place to experience all that Disney has to offer.
This includes Marvel, of course, and whether you’re a fan of the comics or the Marvel Cinematic Universe or both, you’ll have a lot to look forward to in Anaheim as Marvel celebrates 80 years. Marvel has a whole lot of activities and panels planned around its comics, superheroes, and films, including first looks at upcoming projects. Before August 23 arrives, here’s what you need to know about some of the Marvel 80 panels and presentations at D23 Expo 2019.
Marvel Studios Pavilion
The excitement begins on the show floor where fans will be able to take part in an Expo-exclusive Avengers: Endgame video experience. Costumes worn by heroes from the MCU will be on display, and there will also be opportunities for signings. And be sure to come back to the pavilion every day for the daily Marvel trivia game.
Do you see yourself as a budding artist? At Center Stage on Friday, August 23 at 3:30 PM and Saturday, August 24 at 3:00 PM, fans attending the How to Draw the Marvel Way panel will get the opportunity to learn what it takes to draw Marvel characters from editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski, Creative Director of Themed Entertainment Brian Crosby, and from a number of Marvel artists.
On Friday, August 23 from 6:00-7: 00 PM at Hall D23, all kinds of sneak peeks, announcements, and appearances by special guests will be part of Marvel’s Animation Venom Invasion and a World Premiere panel. The “world premiere” will be of Battle of the Bands, a new Marvel Rising special. And among the many announcements and news to come will be an update of Marvel’s Spider-Man series.
Have you ever wanted to learn more about the history of Marvel Comics? Show up at Stage 28 on Saturday, August 24, from 5:30-6:30 PM for the Marvel Comics: Marvel 80th Anniversary panel. There marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski and executive editor Tom Brevoort will give fans a comprehensive look back at the history of the Marvel Universe from Captain America to Captain Marvel. Here will be your chance to pay tribute to the great Marvel characters and stories that have entertained you throughout the years.
