Doctor Strange Trailer Features an Epic Score and Inception-Style CGI

We all knew it was coming, but did that prepare us for the epic Doctor Strange teaser trailer that debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night?

Full of wild imagery and parallels and an electrifying score, the two-minute trailer gives a good sense of the aesthetic for the film, without actually packing too much in:

The trailer starts with the car crash that sets surgeon Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) on his journey east to fix his shattered hands. This leads him to the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), where he begins to learn about mysticism and eventually becomes the hero we know as Doctor Strange.

We get brief shots of Rachel McAdams as a doctor/nurse (character still unknown), Chiwetel Ejifor as Baron Mordo, Mads Mikkelsen’s awesomely painted face, and some very Inception-style CGI.

The big thing that throws me in this trailer is Cumberbatch’s American accent, but that’s something I can easily become more familiar with as more footage is released.

Doctor Strange is set to bow into theaters on November 4, 2016, with Scott Derrickson directing and Jon Spaihts penning the script. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Mads Mikkelsen.

What do you think of the first trailer? Are you on board with this mystical Marvel film? Sound off below!
