Sony Planning to Reboot Men in Black with a New Trilogy and Without Will Smith

The last Men in Black movie was in 2012 but, according to Sony, that’s enough time to start working on a reboot. Without Will Smith.

Granted, when Smith was asked about a fourth film, he responded with: “Three is enough for me.” So he’s probably cool with the reboot being done without him.

During the Sony leaks, there was talk of a Men in Black and 21 Jump Street crossover (CAN YOU IMAGINE) but it never went anywhere.

The former alone, however, is going somewhere.

In speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald sounded positive about reviving Men in Black. Specifically, they said the franchise is “very active” and they’re in the middle of working on it at Sony.

When asked about Smith’s involvement, their answer was even simpler: “Most likely no.”

They then they go on to confirm it will be another trilogy.

The franchise, based on a comic book by Lowell Cunningham, followed a secret organization that monitored extraterrestrial life on Earth. The main characters were Agents Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) and Jay (Will Smith).

Are you excited to see more Men in Black? Who would you want to see lead the film and would you want entirely new characters? Sound off in the comments!
