New Fantastic Four Images Mean It’s Clobberin’ Time

Despite a trailer being released, 20th Century Fox has been alarmingly quiet on the Fantastic Four front. However, courtesy of Empire, we have new stills from the film. Check them out below!

Josh Trank helms this reboot, which chronicles Marvel’s first family-based superhero team. It is primarily based on the Ultimate versions of these characters, which see a younger Reed Richards (Miles Teller), Sue Storm (Kate Mara), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordon), and Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) traveling to another dimension that fundamentally alters their DNA.

Three images were released, with the most exciting picture as a clear shot of Bell as the Thing, a hero who gets transformed entirely to orange rock. These effects look great. It’s naturalistic and realistic – as much as something can be for coming straight out of a comic book.

The next image shows the team of four wearing their space suits in another dimension. Since there is no massive rock-like creature, this must be before they receive their powers.

Finally we see Reed a.k.a. Mr. Incredible lying on a table in what looks like an operating room or science lab. His arms seem partially elongated and the people in the room with him are wearing hazmat suits.

While many fans are still up in the air about this film, we think it deserves at least a watch. Trank is a talented director and truly believes in this film. The effects we saw in the first trailer, and now of the Thing, are promising.

This film looks to move away from the 2005 and 2007 films, which is probably for the best.

Fantastic Four is set to hit theaters on August 7, 2015. Josh Trank is directing with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, and Reg E. Cathey starring.
