Regardless of how you feel about Ewoks, Star Wars fans would be hard pressed not to like Warwick Davis. He played Wicket in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi and successfully campaigned for a role in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
We don’t know who he’ll be playing in the next installment (although we doubt it will be Wicket again), we’re glad he’s there because he’s rewarding us with selfies from the set.
It’s a great photo but once you get past the amusement of Davis taking a selfie with Darth Vader’s torso, you have to do a double take – “Darth Vader?”
This was taken on set, which means rumors about Vader being in the film are probably true, whether in a flashback, as a Force Ghost, or something else entirely more menacing. That, or he’s security for the set to make sure no spoilers leak.
Davis likely had permission to share these photos since not much can be learned from the photo. We’re glad it exists, though, because it reveals that Darth Vader is definitely hip enough for selfies.
The second photo is with a character who has been confirmed to be returning for The Force Awakens for a long time: the walking carpet himself, Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew)!
Once again, a hilarious but endearing photo. Davis is clearly excited to be here, and we’re excited too! December 18th is certainly a long, long wait away.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Gwendoline Christie.
