If you’re like me, you’re excited for Jurassic World. So excited, in fact, that when you watched the new TV Spot and clip (below), you screeched like a raptor. An actual velociraptor. The kind that Chris Pratt reveals he knows a lot about in the new clip.
The new TV Spot focuses on the villain of the film – the elusive Indominus Rex. When Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) asks Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) what happened to the mutated dinosaur’s sibling, the answer is simple: “She ate it.”
Isla Nublar’s newest dinosaur is terrifying because she’s killing for sport – but it makes for an exciting film concept! While we still don’t get a great look at Indominus Rex, it’s the best one we’ve had so far.
If this TV spot wasn’t enough, the first official clip from the film was released earlier today. While some may be disappointed that it has no dinosaurs, it does give us a better look at our two protagonists: the aforementioned Owen Grady and Claire Dearing.
In this clip, Dearing, a representative from Masrani Global, asks Grady to help out at the park by “evaluating the paddock for vulnerabilities.”
The script isn’t subtle in presenting Dearing and Grady as opposites. The former is Type A while the latter is Type B. However, Howard and Pratt sell their roles and are evidently having fun. It’d be a little hard not to have fun when you know you’re in a Jurassic Park film.
We also learn, unsurprisingly, that Grady is being recruited due to his relationship with the raptors. It’s going to be great seeing this velociraptor training further explored in the film.
Jurassic World hits theaters on June 12, 2015 and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Judy Greer, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, and Andy Buckley.
