Chris Pine confirmed his role in the upcoming Wonder Woman and now it looks like another big Hollywood name is joining the project.
TheWrap is reporting that Oscar winner Nicole Kidman is in talks “to play a high-ranking Amazonian warrior.”
She’ll be fighting alongside Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the Patty Jenkins directed feature.
The first name that springs to mind when I hear “high-ranking Amazonian warrior” is Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, created by the five Goddesses who formed the Amazons: Hestia, Aphrodite, Demeter, Athena and Artemis.
Not to mention the fact that Hippolyta is Wonder Woman’s mother. There are other high-ranking Amazons, such as Antiope, but given she eventually split off from Hippolyta’s Amazons, that seems unlikely.
There’s no doubting Kidman’s talent and this would be unlike any role she’s done before. However, she has a certain screen presence that I think would make her a great fit for an Amazon.

Wonder Woman is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
