If you’re anything like us, you still have the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens playing on repeat. Now we can put names with the new faces in the Star Wars universe.
Director J.J. Abrams and President of LucasFilm Kathleen Kennedy released some character names exclusively to Entertainment Weekly in a way that will make any Star Wars fan smile. When the first film came out in 1977, Topps Trading Card Company released 5 rounds of trading cards for the original trilogy designated with different colors, starting with red and blue. Abrams released the characters seen in the trailer for the upcoming film in the same vein.
We presume Abrams and Kennedy have only decided to release the names of the characters seen in the trailer, which means there are still plenty more coming our way with Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, and Andy Serkis, and that doesn’t even though on what’s come for our original trio.
So what do you think of these name reveals and how it was done? What do you think the numbering means? Let us know in the comments!
