The Star Wars social media pages just made the internet explode by releasing brand new character posters for The Force Awakens!
With similar designs, there are five posters in total: Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher).

Hmm, there’s one character who’s noticeably absent…
No, not Luke. Seriously, they’re leaving him out on purpose. We will find out why in the movie and we can move on.
I’m talking about the last third of our new trio: Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron! Okay, okay, so I might be biased but he’s still one of the main characters! Although maybe less so than Finn and Rey in this first film? Maybe his big time will be in Episodes VIII and IX.
Or maybe they’ll release more posters later today. Fingers crossed that’s the real answer!
I also think Leia’s poster is especially awesome because she doesn’t have a weapon. She’s always been a leader, a politician, and a diplomat and while she’s great with a blaster, I think it’s more effective seeing her without one to show that she has other strengths than a physical weapon.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, and Max von Sydow is set to come out on December 18, 2015.
