BRB Starling City, the Green Arrow has some turtles to team up with!
That’s right, Stephen Amell, best known for playing Oliver Queen on Arrow, will hang up his bow for a while to join the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
He takes on the role of hockey mask wearing vigilante, Casey Jones.
Jones, created by Kevin Eastman, first appeared in a 1985 “Raphael” miniseries. He becomes an ally to the turtles and a love interest for April O’Neil.
While the first film may not have done well with critics (it earned a 21% on Rotten Tomatoes), it earned $485 million at the worldwide box office. In Hollywood, it’s typically the dollar bills that green-light a sequel.
Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form return to produce the sequel. Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec pen the script for the project. Megan Fox plans to reprise her role as April alongside William Fichtner as Eric Sacks.
No details about the film have been revealed, although some reports rumor Bebop and Rocksteady or even Krang as the villains.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set to be directed by David Green and hit theaters on June 3, 2016.
