The Empire Rears Its Head in New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Art

Today marks the kick-off of one of the biggest Star Wars events in this galaxy: Star Wars Celebration! In light of that, new posters and promotional art for the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, leaked online. Check them out below!

LucasFilm may have planned to release these posters at the convention, perhaps during J.J. Abrams’ panel today, but they hit the internet first (as most things do these days).

The posters and art focus on the Empire. We get some great shots of our villain, Kylo Ren, and his crossguard lightsaber. He wears what seems to be a metal mask so there’s knowing what he actually looks like.

We also see Stormtroopers with flamethrowers, as well as TIE fighters in action.

Star Wars Celebration will livestream starting at 10am for those of us unable to attend.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Gwendoline Christie, is set to come out on December 18, 2015.
