The Flash Adds Another Speedster and Villain for Season 2

Central City is about to get crowded because The Flash, the hit show on the CW, cast two new characters!

According to TVLine, newcomer Violett Beane will be taking on the role of Jessie Quick, the daughter of Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. She inherits both parents’ abilities, including accelerated speed and superhuman strength.

There’s going to be a lot of speedsters this season, because we also have Jay Garrick and Wally West to look forward to.

The CW describes Beane’s Quick as “a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad Zoom.” Zoom has yet to be cast.

Next, courtesy of Comic Book, is another villain for the series.

Demore Barnes (Hemlock Grove, 12 Monkeys) will take on the role of Henry Hewitt aka the villain Tokamak. In the series, he is “a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.”

In the comics, he’s best known for kidnapping a Senator’s daughter and turning her into Firehawk using the same accident that created Firestorm. He then does the same thing to himself.

It’s likely they’ll keep at least part of this story, given we already have Firestorm in this universe.

Season 2 of The Flash will premiere on October 6th on The CW.
