John Stamos, Rebel Wilson, Darren Criss, and More to Headline Live Musical of The Little Mermaid

Picture this: singer Sara Bareilles, known for her hit song “Brave,” and actor Darren Criss (Glee) falling in love as Ariel and Eric from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Toss in names like John Stamos, Rebel Wilson, and Titus Burgess, and that’s what fans are going to be getting at the Hollywood Bowl on June 4!

The fairy tale musical about a mermaid taking hold of her own life and falling in love with a human prince is going to debut at the outside venue for one night, where performers will sing songs from both the 1989 animated film and the Broadway musical, set to a live orchestra and choir against the backdrop of the movie.

As previously mentioned, Bareilles and Criss will be playing the leading lovers. While Prince Eric does not sing in the film, he has plenty of shining solos in the stage musical. And Bareilles clearly already has experience…

Causing plenty of problems for the lovers will be funny lady Rebel Wilson as the sea witch Ursula, who is King Triton’s sister in the musical (an original idea from the film, which was eventually dropped).

In a bit comedic role, heartthrob John Stamos will be taking on the role of French Chef Louis, who has a particularly hard time with Sebastian.

Rounding out the cast will be original Broadway cast members Norm Lewis as King Triton and Titus Burgess as Sebastian.

Tickets go on sale April 9 at 10 am PST at ticketmaster.com.
