Universal’s Mummy Reboot, Starring Tom Cruise, Gets Pushed Back to June 2017

Tom Cruise has officially signed up to take on an ancient Egyptian monster!

He’ll be joining Universal’s monster universe to star in The Mummy reboot.

The film was originally supposed to arrive in theaters on March 24, 2017, but has now been pushed back to June 9, 2017.

It also stars Sofia Boutella (Kingsman, Star Trek Beyond) as the titular Mummy.

Alex Kurtzman is set to direct, with Jon Spaihts penning the script and, unlike the perfect Brendan Fraser version, will be set in present-day.

This new cinematic universe will see the famous monsters headlining their own films before coming together in a massive crossover film.
