Netflix&#8217;s upcoming <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Daredevil&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daredevil<\/a><\/em><\/strong> series is &#8220;the exact opposite&#8221; of the Affleck film, according to showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. Slated to premiere sometime in 2015, we have brand new images and information regarding the show for you.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a brief reminder first: <em>Daredevil<\/em> is the first of four superhero shows Marvel is preparing for Netflix, culminating in a team for the miniseries <em>The Defenders<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>But don&#8217;t expect to see what you&#8217;re used to with Marvel films. <em>The Defenders<\/em> series is based in reality, comprised of a group of loner superheroes. When Marvel TV Chief Jeph Loeb spoke with <em>Entertainment Weekly<\/em>, this is what he had to say about the show:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;There aren\u2019t going to be people flying through the sky; there are no magic hammers. We\u2019ve always approached this as a crime drama first, superhero show second.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This sounds about right for Daredevil aka Matt Murdock, portrayed by Charlie Cox in the upcoming series. Blinded as a child, h is a lawyer by day and crime-fighter by night, with his enhanced senses &#8211; other than sight, of course. He&#8217;s a vigilante, out for justice. The show is influenced by &#8220;The Man Without Fear&#8221; comic book miniseries by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr., according to DeKnight.<\/p>\n<p>This is evident by the costume Murdock wears, seen in this new still:<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry, his familiar red suit and deviled horns will show up at some point, we&#8217;re sure. The hardest part for Cox about the costume has been navigating Murdock&#8217;s lack of eyesight. \u201cLike, I put on a shirt but I can\u2019t look where the buttons are, because Daredevil wouldn\u2019t know where the buttons are. But I also can\u2019t fumble,\u201d Cox says.<\/p>\n<p>Expect the show to be dark. Marvel can certainly get away with more on Netflix then they have with <em>Agents of SHIELD<\/em> on ABC an,d given Murdock&#8217;s penchant for the streets, we&#8217;ll be seeing plenty of it.<\/p>\n<p>DeKnight also told EW a little of what to expect from the show: &#8220;It\u2019s a little grittier and edgier than Marvel has gone before, but we\u2019re not looking to push it to extreme violence or gratuitous nudity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Daredevil<\/em> is set to premiere in the first half of 2015, starring Charlie Cox, Vincent D\u2019Onofrio, Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll, and Scott Glenn. They are also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/2014\/12\/05\/jessica-jones-casting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moving ahead with their Jessica Jones series<\/a>, slated to premiere after <em>Daredevil<\/em> in 2015 and get us halfway to <em>The Defenders<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>What do you guys think of the direction they&#8217;re taking this series in?
