It’s been nearly a month since The CW’s The Flash<\/strong><\/em><\/a> went on winter hiatus for its first season and we’re definitely missing it. Luckily there’s not much longer to wait because The Fastest Man Alive returns on January 20th.<\/p>\n

Until then, The CW graciously provided two TV spots to bide our time which you can watch below. The two videos emphasize The Flash’s villains aka his Rogue Gallery. We’ll see the return of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) as well as the debut of another rogues, the Pied Piper (Andy Mientus).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Spartacus: War of the Damned’s<\/em> Liam McIntyre has just been cast as Mark Mardon aka Weather Wizard, another one of Barry Allen’s rogues. We saw the demise of the first Weather Wizard, Mark’s brother, Clyde Mardon, in the first episode of the show but now it looks like his brother will seek out revenge.<\/p>\n

Too many villains has been a criticism of past superhero movies (The Dark Knight Rises<\/em>) and television series (Gotham<\/em>), so we hope this show doesn’t fall into that trap. The Rogue Gallery is, of course, a very real thing for this hero but now that the show has been renewed for a second season, they can probably start slowing down.<\/p>\n

The Flash<\/em> returns on January 20th with the episode “Revenge of the Rogues”.<\/p>\n
