The studio also clarified that this will be a sequel to <em>Alien<\/em> and not the sequel to <em>Prometheus<\/em> that&#8217;s set to come out on March 4, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This bodes well for Sigourney Weaver to return as Ellen Ripley, particularly after working together on <em>Chappie<\/em>. Both Blonkamp and Weaver have been positive about this sequel in interviews.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no telling what&#8217;s in store for Blomkamp&#8217;s take on the franchise but, given what we&#8217;ve seen from him in the past (and how excited we are for <em>Chappie<\/em>), we&#8217;re hopeful. He&#8217;s a very talented director, especially in the field of science-fiction.<\/p>\n<p>You can check out <em>Chappie<\/em> when it comes out on March 6th in anticipation.
