{"id":16225,"date":"2015-03-06T14:34:41","date_gmt":"2015-03-06T22:34:41","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=16225"},"modified":"2023-01-19T15:55:32","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T23:55:32","slug":"first-look-at-cbs-supergirl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com/news\/first-look-at-cbs-supergirl\/","title":{"rendered":"First Look at Kara Zor-El&#8217;s New Digs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The pilot for CBS&#8217; upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?searchfield=supergirl&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Supergirl<\/em><\/strong><\/a> started production and, while we&#8217;ve seen plenty of little images on social media, we now have our first official look at <strong>Melissa Benoist<\/strong> as Kara Zor-El, cousin of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Superman&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Superman<\/a>. Check out the full costume below.<\/p>\n<p>Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (<em>Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha, Chicago<\/em>) created this costume, just as she did for the costumes on <em>Arrow<\/em> and <em>The Flash<\/em>. You can see cohesion between all three, especially with material and colors.<\/p>\n<p>The first thought I had when I saw this costume was how much it reminds me of Henry Cavill&#8217;s Superman in <em>Man of Steel<\/em>, mostly due to all the dark colors. While I hope that the colors are brightened for the show (Supers are always supposed to be bright colors, in my mind), the design of the costume looks excellent.<\/p>\n<p>From the boots to the skirt to the tights and the cape, Benoist definitely looks like Supergirl. If we&#8217;re going off pictures alone, she&#8217;s going to nail this.<\/p>\n<p><em>Supergirl<\/em> is set to premiere this Fall on CBS, starring Melissa Benoist, Mechad Brooks, Laura Benanti, Jeremy Jordan, Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Dean Cain, and Helen Slater.<\/p>\n<p>Are you excited for <em>Supergirl<\/em>?
