Have you heard the news? Paramount Pictures<\/b> wants more Transformers<\/a><\/i><\/b> and they’re doing something about it.<\/p>\n

Deadline reports that Paramount is currently negotiating a deal with Akiva Goldsman<\/strong> (A Beautiful Mind,<\/i> I Am Legend<\/I>), franchise director Michael Bay, executive producer Steven Spielberg, and product Lorenzo di Bonaventura. If this deal comes to fruition, the potential spin-off films to the Transformers<\/i> franchise will be developed in a writer’s room.<\/p>\n

It’s likely that Goldsman’s role will be oversight and development: acquiring writers, nursing the film’s (or films’) premise(s), and general development of the ideas.<\/p>\n

With Age of Extinction<\/i> grossing nearly $1.1. billion (and skyrocketing to the top grossing release ever in China), it’s unsurprising that Paramount wants to move forward with an extended series of films.<\/p>\n

Michael Bay, currently in pre-production on his next film 13 Hours,<\/i> is expected to return in some capacity but has not yet confirmed involvement in these new films.<\/p>\n

Hasbro continues its popular toy line, proving that a market for Transformers<\/i> is still out there. Maybe we’ll even get to see Ultra Magnus<\/a> in the film.<\/p>\n
