In a <em>brilliant<\/em> April Fool&#8217;s marketing campaign, Ryan Reynolds and friends confirmed that <em>Deadpool<\/em> will be rated R.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, <em>JoBlo<\/em> wrote an article saying the film officially received a PG-13 rating, despite push back from Reynolds. He tweeted about the news this morning:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>A PG-13 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/deadpool?src=hash\">#deadpool<\/a> will still have 4th wall breaking, a shit-ton of action and at least 3 chimichangas. Zero need to panic. I promise.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VancityReynolds\/status\/583312757275013120\">April 1, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a blow to fans, and Reynolds himself, if this film receives the tamer rating. Watch the video below.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, Mario Lopez interviews Ryan Reynolds about the rating debacle. In the middle of the talk, Deadpool suddenly shows up and does what he does best &#8211; kills Lopez and comedically follows up with: &#8220;F*ck you, Slater.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He then says: &#8220;April Fool&#8217;s! <em>Deadpool<\/em> will of course be rated R.&#8221; He holds up a drawing of the death he just caused and finishes with: &#8220;It&#8217;s okay, Jessie, Slater can&#8217;t hurt you anymore.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So Wade Wilson is obviously a fan of <em>Saved by the Bell<\/em> too.<\/p>\n<p>This gives us our first look at Reynolds in the costume and I&#8217;m already excited. His voice, slightly high-pitched and snarky, is perfect, as is the dialogue. The marketing for this movie has been top-notch (as evidenced by the fact that their <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/deadpoolmovie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official Twitter account<\/a> only follows one other account &#8211; Hello Kitty).<\/p>\n<p><em>Deadpool<\/em>, directed by Tim Miller, will star Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, and Morena Baccarin.
