He found success as an action star and has several big projects coming up including the HBO original series <em>Ballers,<\/em> Disney&#8217;s animated feature <em>Moana,<\/em> Warner Bros. and DC&#8217;s <em>Shazam!<\/em>, and now stepping into Kurt Russell&#8217;s shoes in a remake of <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.entertainmentearth.com\/hitlist.asp?theme=Big+Trouble+in+Little+China&amp;id=EN-407186506\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Trouble in Little China<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Wrap<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-to-star-in-big-trouble-in-little-china-remake-exclusive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a> that Johnson is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to star in the remake as Jack Burton, an all-American trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in San Francisco\u2019s Chinatown.<\/p>\n<p>While the original film only earned $11 million domestically, it became a cult classic and garnered a large fanbase.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson and his team pitched the remake idea to Fox, who released the original film. <em>X-Men: First Class<\/em> writers <strong>Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz<\/strong> are set to pen the remake script.<\/p>\n<p>You can currently see Johnson in <em>San Andreas,<\/em> which earned an impressive $54 million domestically on opening weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Are you excited for a <em>Big Trouble in Little China<\/em> remake starring Dwayne Johnson?
