If you were looking forward to a solo Boba Fett film<\/a>, we’re sorry to bring some bad news. However, if you like Han Solo (and who doesn’t?), we’re happy to bring some awesome<\/em> news.<\/p>\n StarWars.com<\/a> announced the second Star Wars Anthology<\/em><\/strong><\/a> film will be about a young Han Solo, directed by The LEGO Movie<\/em><\/a> and 21 Jump Street<\/em> franchise’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller!<\/strong><\/p>\n About this new project, the directing duo had this to say:<\/p>\n “This is the first film we\u2019ve worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with. We promise to take risks, to give the audience a fresh experience, and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us. This is a dream come true for us. And not the kind of dream where you\u2019re late for work and all your clothes are made of pudding, but the kind of dream where you get to make a film with some of the greatest characters ever, in a film franchise you\u2019ve loved since before you can remember having dreams at all.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Lord and Miller haven’t had a misstep so far in Hollywood. As Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan, who will pen the script, say: “They\u2019re two of the smartest, funniest and most original filmmakers around, and the ideal choice to tell the story of Han Solo, one of the coolest characters in the galaxy.”<\/p>\n And if you’re going to be making a film about Han Solo, smart, funny, and original are three fantastic traits you should probably have. We’re thrilled about the choices to say the least!<\/p>\n The film will account the time of young Han Solo and how he “became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.”<\/p>\n Since the comics are canon, could we see Sana Solo in the film and learn about her marriage to Han<\/a>? That would be interesting.<\/p>\n
