Ryan Reynolds<\/strong> stopped by Conan<\/em> last night to debut the trailer for his upcoming film and the world shed a collective tear of happiness.<\/p>\nThe trailer is the same one shown at this year’s Comic-Con, but now in glorious hi-definition, which makes it even better.<\/em> It briefly chronicles the origins of Wade Wilson, who becomes Deadpool after being treated for cancer.<\/p>\nThere’s plenty of quips (“And please don’t make the supersuit green. Or animated.”), violence, a look at the relationship between Wade and Vanessa Carlysle aka Copycat (played by Morena Baccarin), and some excellent<\/em> exchanges with TJ Miller as Weasel. Also Colossus. COLOSSUS.<\/p>\nThe heavens shone down upon us and said: “Let there be Deadpool.” And Ryan Reynolds gave us Deadpool, with the most perfect voice and performance imaginable. And this is just the trailer!<\/p>\n
In all seriousness, though, after the disappointment people faced in the movie-that-must-not-be-named, this is exactly what we needed. It’s clear how dedicated Reynolds is to the role and how effortlessly he feels<\/em> like Deadpool. So far it’s paid off and I can’t wait to see more.<\/p>\nDeadpool<\/em> is set to hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
