The cast for the upcoming Harry Potter<\/strong><\/em><\/a> spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them<\/a>,<\/em> just got bigger.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> exclusively reveals the film cast Colin Farrell<\/strong> as a wizard named Graves.<\/p>\n

The film, with a script penned by Harry Potter<\/em> author J.K. Rowling, takes place 70 years before the events we’re familiar with. It follows Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a wizard and Magizoologist (someone who studies magical creatures) who’s traveling to document magical creatures.<\/p>\n

Newt will reportedly meet Graves in New York during his journeys.<\/p>\n

When I first heard Farrell was cast in the film, I’ll admit I was a little taken aback; he seemed like an odd choice. However, the more I think about it, the more the Irish actor seems like a perfect fit.<\/p>\n

First bursting onto the scene with 2002’s Minority Report,<\/em> Farrell has since had a varied and successful career. He’s proven himself adept at both drama and comedy with great performances in films like In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, The New World,<\/em> and Saving Mr. Banks.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is by far one of the upcoming films I’m most excited about so I can’t wait to hear more.<\/p>\n

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,<\/em> directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Colin Farrell, is set to hit theaters on November 18, 2016.<\/p>\n
